Migrating
I'm actually thinking about placing my brain in a nutrition fluid and migrating into the internet. Life would be surely far easier there. I could live in Second Life and build myself the perfect partner, which, according to some psycho test, must be some perfectly balanced being surely only existing as a theoretical role model in some obscure statistics to match my requirements. That would definitely also solve the problem of no one actually being interested in the brooding boring loser the test said I am …
Or I could live in World of Warcraft, where you have the feeling of accomplishing something when finishing a quest; not to speak of the fact that it goes quite a bit faster than my current projects … (And there would be Elves, too! Oh, imagine!)
And I might be able to be online 24/7, which seems to be the only way to mark some presence nowadays -- one clearly slips people's minds by not doing so and is easily replaced by some other entertainments.
Speaking of being online: We're still not online at home, and while my Mac Pro is set up, it is hardly running; interesting to see that the PC has turned from a simple, stand-alone tool to a terminal for the internet, and, being disconnected, becomes more or less obsolete.
As there is still no word from Cablecom, I guess I'm going to search for an Internet Migration Agency -- every bet that my brain is faster plugged in than my Mac Pro …
